Conference Weekend

Daniel did really well during the eight hours of Conference that was on over the weekend. He folded his arms when every speaker got up to address the congregation especially when President Monson spoke. I told him Pres. Monson was talking to us about temples and so he would point at the temple picture and make a horse sound which we aren't sure where that came from but at least he is using his imagination. He was just convinced that everyone was praying the whole time. The music was inspiring to him as well and caused him to rock out every time they sang. Daniel did have a hard time on Sunday morning so Jason built him a fort. The fort held some challenges. We tried building it with the kitchen chairs but Daniel just wanted to sit on them. So we moved the couch and Jason built a better fort between the couch and the chair. We gave him a flashlight and his favorite thing was to come in and out of the "door." The only truly hard thing about Daniel is how particular he is about, um, everything. So the "door" on his fort had to be opened and closed each time he came in and out and the blanket had to touch the floor. Other than the slight tantrums caused by the "door" and the other fits that came when we took the fort down, conference weekend was a success.

Rockin' out to MoTab. That's awesome. Olivia turned to us the second session and said, "we saw this already!" Conference as a kid - I can't remember being more bored.

Ikea beat the rainy day

My kids love the dirt. They love being outside while I try to plant and do everything in the dirt. Alice rolls in, runs in, and eats the dirt. The grossest thing I have found lately is her with her mouth full of mud and a pebble in her hand and big smiles on her face. To beat that I have found her now three times with dirt in the mouth. Yuck! Today it rained. This has got to be the fifteenth day this month that it rained and my kids could not stand it. So eventually I told the kids to get their shoes (which makes Alice run to the door) and that we were going to IKEA. IKEA is a great way to spend the day. Daniel and Alice played in the kids rooms that were set up and ran through that little hole in the wall they have between two of the rooms. They loved it. One of the rooms had a slide in it which Alice discovered that she loved. Down the slide she went, over and over and over again. Then we came home and the crying and tantrums started up right away again. But for those two...

Nothing like people to ruin your day.

Alright so last week we found out that our condo was put up for sale. Jason looked up the sales price, quickly realized that is was pretty low and we feared for the type of people that would be coming through to view our condo, we were right to fear. Usually I am pretty easy going and try to be accommodating but somethings are unbelievable. So these people put in an offer on our home and then the husband wanted to come check it out so their agent and our agent agreed on a time. We thought, okay they'll be here what like a half hour? So Jason and Daniel went to look at homes for us and I stayed here to watch the show. The husband proceeded to test each outlet to see if it was hot, then he was looking in the attic space, then messing with the fuses and air conditioning. He was the first to show up so we thought, ok, this is going to be alright. Ten to fifteen minutes later someone else knocked on the door. There is this lady with three kids and a pizza box. She mumbled some...

Sitting Up

Alice has begun sitting up. She can sit for about a minute on her own and then for about five minutes supported. Grass is also her new favorite thing and she will grab the blanket that she sits on and move it so that she can grab the grass. She can currently pull of fist fulls of grass with no hesitation. Although she did face plant in the grass and decided that the grass was not where her head should be. Daniel loves raspberries. He loves to run outside and pick raspberries straight from the bushes. Then he loves to run around the yard at grandma's house screaming. Alvin the dog is actually more afraid of Daniel than the other way around. Our house is coming along and hopefully within the month so we can get more settled. Yellowstone was a successful trip and our kids had a blast. Daniel could not see out the binoculars so eventually we just started pointed out animals that he could see on his own which were: buffalo. Good things seeing four million buffalo was exciting...
