My First Sharing Time

I had prepared and worried for weeks over doing sharing time, mostly because I was worried that I would bore the older kids and end up using words that the sunbeams did not understand. So today was the big test. This morning started out with a bang, Daniel woke up super grumpy and with a fever. Jason and I were both teaching so Daniel got dragged to church in his pjs, with his binky and blanket in tow.

Sharing time comes right at the beginning and as I stood up in front of Junior Primary I was terrified. As a missionary when I got nervous to talk to people I would toss my scriptures back and forth between my hands so I looked down to grab my scriptures and due the crazy morning we had with Daniel, they did not make it to church with me. Ashley was nice enough to lend me hers and I ended up using the wrong scripture for Junior Primary but I don't think any of them understood it anyway so it really didn't matter. Our theme today was "I am thankful for my body." The highlights of the Junior Primary were from the Meeker's little kid who told us that he was thankful for his body because he could go to the bathroom. Then when I asked what we shouldn't eat he shouted out "fire!" I tried so hard not to laugh at both of those but I don't think I did very well hiding the smiles.

I was amazed though at how well the kids responded to what I had prepared. Senior primary was enthusiastic about looking up and reading scriptures and gave really poignant answers to my questions. It went better than I had expected and I think I will do a better job next time. I learned today that people who had been telling me that Primary is the place to be were right. You really can learn a lot from kids.

You did a great job! I thought you captured their attention and handled the funny comments very well. It was very hard not to laugh at the fire comment.

in case you have not heard

Baby Webb #3 is on the way. Here the baby is. We are going to try to be strong and not find out the sex at the ultra sound. So if you have an opinion, about the sex, feel free to share it. I am sure Jason will put a vote up. So far he wants names like "gunner" and "ruby." I told him Gunner might not go so well with Alice and Daniel, but who am I to stop an opinion? Oh wait. I was sick off and on for a few weeks but feel pretty good now. This is the baby at 10 weeks. We are about 13.5 weeks today. Due the end of February. I guess if we are lucky it could be a leap day baby. Daniel saw the baby in the ultra sound and was totally not surprised. His comment was "is that the baby I knew was growing in your tummy?" Alice was disturbed and cried and didn't eat for about two days. Then Daniel reminded me of a few months ago when he heard a voice from heaven telling him we needed another baby. He told me that "heavenly father w...

Sitting Up

Alice has begun sitting up. She can sit for about a minute on her own and then for about five minutes supported. Grass is also her new favorite thing and she will grab the blanket that she sits on and move it so that she can grab the grass. She can currently pull of fist fulls of grass with no hesitation. Although she did face plant in the grass and decided that the grass was not where her head should be. Daniel loves raspberries. He loves to run outside and pick raspberries straight from the bushes. Then he loves to run around the yard at grandma's house screaming. Alvin the dog is actually more afraid of Daniel than the other way around. Our house is coming along and hopefully within the month so we can get more settled. Yellowstone was a successful trip and our kids had a blast. Daniel could not see out the binoculars so eventually we just started pointed out animals that he could see on his own which were: buffalo. Good things seeing four million buffalo was exciting...

Ikea beat the rainy day

My kids love the dirt. They love being outside while I try to plant and do everything in the dirt. Alice rolls in, runs in, and eats the dirt. The grossest thing I have found lately is her with her mouth full of mud and a pebble in her hand and big smiles on her face. To beat that I have found her now three times with dirt in the mouth. Yuck! Today it rained. This has got to be the fifteenth day this month that it rained and my kids could not stand it. So eventually I told the kids to get their shoes (which makes Alice run to the door) and that we were going to IKEA. IKEA is a great way to spend the day. Daniel and Alice played in the kids rooms that were set up and ran through that little hole in the wall they have between two of the rooms. They loved it. One of the rooms had a slide in it which Alice discovered that she loved. Down the slide she went, over and over and over again. Then we came home and the crying and tantrums started up right away again. But for those two...
