Harvest Time

So life at my parent's house is great. We do lots of fun things including canning and picking apples. Daniel of course loves these things. First he loves doing what he calls "making tomatoes."

Mom has an apple tree that had lots of apples this year. So we went outside to harvest them when the time seemed right. Daniel thought it was so cool to pick apples and continued to throw them in the box. The girls just love being outside.

Alice and Abby love to be outside. Abby is learning how to pull herself up and try to walk. Daniel of course threw apples at Abby in hopes of making them into the box.

We did have one problem of not being tall enough and not really wanting to get the ladder out. First we pulled out a rake and mom held down the branches while everyone pulled the apples off. Then Stephanie climbed the tree with the rake to get the apples. Eventually Stephanie just shook the tree until she almost fell out and we got all but about fifteen apples out of the tree. Hopefully next year it still wants to produce.

Daniel's job was after the apples fell to pick them up and put them in the basket. The key was to get the apples before the dogs got them because they love to take bites out of them.

On a good note our house is almost done. Check out Jason's pictures on Facebook to see it. We should close in 9 days. Hooray! Daniel still refers to it as the dirt house but told us that we just need to clean it and then it won't be the dirt house. I don't think he will be happy about the lack of yard and the abundance of dirt that will remain when we move it. Anyone that wants to help us move in, just let me know.

I would be happy to watch the kiddos while you move. I hope the closing goes well.

Sewing Quilts with Daniel

Daniel is not one to sit still very often at all. My parents say that he is totally my son and that I drove my mom crazy too but frankly I can't remember that far back. There is one thing that Daniel loves to help me with, and that is sewing. He loves the machine and loves to sit in my lap as we sew anything. Sometimes I think about just sewing straight lines down my endless supply of fabric because I know he will sit still for awhile. A few months ago I had a good friend show me how to make rag quilts. The first one that Daniel and I sewed together was for my niece Abigale. Then of course I had to make one for my nephew Joshua. Then I decided to make one for Daniel. I was going to make a transportation one, full of trucks and planes and boats, but when I took him to the fabric store, much to my surprise and delight he chose dragons over the airplanes. So we started his quilt last week. He sat on my lap or next to me while we sewed every piece together. He was so excited ...

Sitting Up

Alice has begun sitting up. She can sit for about a minute on her own and then for about five minutes supported. Grass is also her new favorite thing and she will grab the blanket that she sits on and move it so that she can grab the grass. She can currently pull of fist fulls of grass with no hesitation. Although she did face plant in the grass and decided that the grass was not where her head should be. Daniel loves raspberries. He loves to run outside and pick raspberries straight from the bushes. Then he loves to run around the yard at grandma's house screaming. Alvin the dog is actually more afraid of Daniel than the other way around. Our house is coming along and hopefully within the month so we can get more settled. Yellowstone was a successful trip and our kids had a blast. Daniel could not see out the binoculars so eventually we just started pointed out animals that he could see on his own which were: buffalo. Good things seeing four million buffalo was exciting...

in case you have not heard

Baby Webb #3 is on the way. Here the baby is. We are going to try to be strong and not find out the sex at the ultra sound. So if you have an opinion, about the sex, feel free to share it. I am sure Jason will put a vote up. So far he wants names like "gunner" and "ruby." I told him Gunner might not go so well with Alice and Daniel, but who am I to stop an opinion? Oh wait. I was sick off and on for a few weeks but feel pretty good now. This is the baby at 10 weeks. We are about 13.5 weeks today. Due the end of February. I guess if we are lucky it could be a leap day baby. Daniel saw the baby in the ultra sound and was totally not surprised. His comment was "is that the baby I knew was growing in your tummy?" Alice was disturbed and cried and didn't eat for about two days. Then Daniel reminded me of a few months ago when he heard a voice from heaven telling him we needed another baby. He told me that "heavenly father w...
