Grandma's House

As most of my "readers" know we have moved in with my parents for the next six weeks while we wait for our house to be finished. The move did not go as planned. It took three times as long as I thought to sort through all the little stuff that no one likes to pack. And instead of packing to go to one place we were packing stuff for storage, grandma's house and Jason's studio apartment. Cleaning out the apartment I heard was a beast as well. But hopefully this will be our last move for a long time.

Daniel has been a monster lately and coming to Grandma's has cured that. He loves to water the garden with grandma in the morning. He helps take care of the two babies. He eats more regularly than he has in months. And he is still sleeping and being really good. He loves playing with his two aunts and uncle that are also living her in this big but ever shrinking house. Everyday he has told me that he doesn't want to go home until today. We were taking a "rest" in his room and he said that he wanted put his bed in the car and take it home. I wasn't quite sure what to tell him so I said "do you want some M&Ms? I sure do." One day I am sure we will have to talk about us not going "home" for awhile.

We are leaving for Yellowstone on Friday and everyone is really excited. Also I took Alice in for her pictures today and oh man....she just smiled and laughed the whole time. Perfect baby. We are so lucky to have such a good baby. One day I will get my camera back and then I can post pictures of my perfect baby and my super polite two year old.

Oh and of course check out our other blog for funny Daniel stories. http://toddled.blogspot.com/ The last one was hilarious.

Well at least Daniel is doing so well with the transition thus far. And there are definitely days I wish I lived with my mom so she could help me out :) Just remind yourself that you will have a brand new house when all this is said and done ;) I can't wait to see it too. I can't believe how big Alice is getting. We still need to get together. Have fun on your trip!

Well glad that Daniel is loving it so much! It is SO hard living with someone else, no matter how much you love them...good luck with the next several weeks!

I am so using that next time I don't know what to say to Wyatt - or even Tyson! "Ummm... would you like some candy??" That is an excellent idea :)

Ikea beat the rainy day

My kids love the dirt. They love being outside while I try to plant and do everything in the dirt. Alice rolls in, runs in, and eats the dirt. The grossest thing I have found lately is her with her mouth full of mud and a pebble in her hand and big smiles on her face. To beat that I have found her now three times with dirt in the mouth. Yuck! Today it rained. This has got to be the fifteenth day this month that it rained and my kids could not stand it. So eventually I told the kids to get their shoes (which makes Alice run to the door) and that we were going to IKEA. IKEA is a great way to spend the day. Daniel and Alice played in the kids rooms that were set up and ran through that little hole in the wall they have between two of the rooms. They loved it. One of the rooms had a slide in it which Alice discovered that she loved. Down the slide she went, over and over and over again. Then we came home and the crying and tantrums started up right away again. But for those two...

Marriages

I am combining the prompts from the 4th and 5th. They ask if you have marriage certificates and then stories about how the people met and later became married. I have found a few citations of marriage records but have seen very few, while I am grateful for the indexers who put the information out there I can't wait until they get around to attaching images. Although I guess I can always pay for the actual documents but who wants to do that? Regardless, this is one of my favorite stories. My grandma, LaVon Taysom, was the oldest of a lot of kids. When she was a teenager her parents sent her and two of her sisters to live with their grandparents (Hammers) in Pleasant View, UT. While there, they would attend the local dances and she eventually met Marshall Maycock. Now being proper, as they dated, her sisters went with them as chaperones. Eventually LaVon and Marshall decided to get married. She was only 17 so on their marriage certificate her birthday says 10 Jul 1908!! ...

Sitting Up

Alice has begun sitting up. She can sit for about a minute on her own and then for about five minutes supported. Grass is also her new favorite thing and she will grab the blanket that she sits on and move it so that she can grab the grass. She can currently pull of fist fulls of grass with no hesitation. Although she did face plant in the grass and decided that the grass was not where her head should be. Daniel loves raspberries. He loves to run outside and pick raspberries straight from the bushes. Then he loves to run around the yard at grandma's house screaming. Alvin the dog is actually more afraid of Daniel than the other way around. Our house is coming along and hopefully within the month so we can get more settled. Yellowstone was a successful trip and our kids had a blast. Daniel could not see out the binoculars so eventually we just started pointed out animals that he could see on his own which were: buffalo. Good things seeing four million buffalo was exciting...
