Halloween

First: Happy Birthday to Brittany, woohoo on 21! It has almost been a whole week.

We went to the zoo, not for halloween but about two weeks before. There were a few funny pictures. We were just in time to catch the elephant show and this is about how it went. Alice and Daniel were almost screaming they were so excited about the elephants. Then the elephants made their noise....the before and after pictures explain it all. Alice enthralled and then clinging to mom in fright of the elephants that might make noise. We watched the one elephant squirt water all over some people and then Daniel was afraid that we would get wet. It was awesome.

Then there was Halloween. Alice discovered that she LOVED wearing that costume and being Nemo. Daniel always wanted to be spiderman. Eventually if the costumes were out and could be seen they were put on. But it kept them entertained for a long time. They loved trick or treating.

We went with the Pooles to their ward halloween party and it rocked! We tried to take a picture and Josh thought he needed to kiss Alice, it was awesome.

Then the actual night. We waited for the rain to stop and when it did, our friends the Traynors were here so their kids got ready too and we braced for the cold. Daniel, Alice and Jackson ran from house to house knocking on doors and grabbing candy. They loved it and had so much fun. Alice eventually went home with Jason and then cried in protest about being home. They also enjoyed handing out candy and Daniel would not go to bed for fear that a trick or treater would come and he wouldn't be there. I am glad they had so much fun.

Last but not least. This is what happens when by nine in the morning there is too much whining, horribleness, and fighting. Mom always wins. Regardless of the reason being that I am taller than Daniel on a chair.

Cute costumes! And ingenious idea with the bear in the light...I may have to try that at our house since we have plenty of the same horribleness :).

Haha! I love the hanging bear. Awesome. Halloween is so fun - even more fun if it would stop raining! lol.

Yes we made our costumes. Anna took swim lessons at the Legacy center (I recommend). I am up for a get together whenever! Fro yo is ALWAYS good. And I will pass the body bug info along.

Phew. Heaven forbid I would have to send an email, right?! ;)

Ikea beat the rainy day

My kids love the dirt. They love being outside while I try to plant and do everything in the dirt. Alice rolls in, runs in, and eats the dirt. The grossest thing I have found lately is her with her mouth full of mud and a pebble in her hand and big smiles on her face. To beat that I have found her now three times with dirt in the mouth. Yuck! Today it rained. This has got to be the fifteenth day this month that it rained and my kids could not stand it. So eventually I told the kids to get their shoes (which makes Alice run to the door) and that we were going to IKEA. IKEA is a great way to spend the day. Daniel and Alice played in the kids rooms that were set up and ran through that little hole in the wall they have between two of the rooms. They loved it. One of the rooms had a slide in it which Alice discovered that she loved. Down the slide she went, over and over and over again. Then we came home and the crying and tantrums started up right away again. But for those two...

Marriages

I am combining the prompts from the 4th and 5th. They ask if you have marriage certificates and then stories about how the people met and later became married. I have found a few citations of marriage records but have seen very few, while I am grateful for the indexers who put the information out there I can't wait until they get around to attaching images. Although I guess I can always pay for the actual documents but who wants to do that? Regardless, this is one of my favorite stories. My grandma, LaVon Taysom, was the oldest of a lot of kids. When she was a teenager her parents sent her and two of her sisters to live with their grandparents (Hammers) in Pleasant View, UT. While there, they would attend the local dances and she eventually met Marshall Maycock. Now being proper, as they dated, her sisters went with them as chaperones. Eventually LaVon and Marshall decided to get married. She was only 17 so on their marriage certificate her birthday says 10 Jul 1908!! ...

Sitting Up

Alice has begun sitting up. She can sit for about a minute on her own and then for about five minutes supported. Grass is also her new favorite thing and she will grab the blanket that she sits on and move it so that she can grab the grass. She can currently pull of fist fulls of grass with no hesitation. Although she did face plant in the grass and decided that the grass was not where her head should be. Daniel loves raspberries. He loves to run outside and pick raspberries straight from the bushes. Then he loves to run around the yard at grandma's house screaming. Alvin the dog is actually more afraid of Daniel than the other way around. Our house is coming along and hopefully within the month so we can get more settled. Yellowstone was a successful trip and our kids had a blast. Daniel could not see out the binoculars so eventually we just started pointed out animals that he could see on his own which were: buffalo. Good things seeing four million buffalo was exciting...
